A Weekend in the Country

I just got back from a weekend in Napa :) I absolutely love going up there and am lucky enough to have a friend who owns a little cottage in the most beautiful property in wine country, The Carneros Inn.
Our trips up there usually involve lots of wine and unreasonable amounts of food, and this weekend was no different. I always leave feeling like Dionysus. Here are a few images of this fabulous resort.

Breakfast on the terrace

A game of chess in the main reception

The most gorgeous leather blanket (to pair with a glass of wine in front of the outdoor fireplace)

Unfortunately the pool was being renovated so I couldn't take pictures, but check out the link above to see the amazingness.

I thought this was about the most adorable thing I had ever seen.
Exactly how little girls should be.

Milton Gendel - The Ultimate Voyeur

Countess Anna Laetitia Pecci Blunt

Guests of Lord Lambton

I meant to post about this Vanity Fair retrospective back in November but I forgot decided to save it until now.

I am a huge admirer of Milton Gendel's voyeuristic eye into high society.
Milton used his extravagant social scene and elite friendships to produce iconic images of the private lives of some of the most inaccessible figures of post war Europe.
Not to mention the beauty and refinement in the quality of his photography.

Golden Globes 2012

Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci Premiere

Piper Perabo in Theyskens' Theory

Rooney Mara in Nina Ricci

Here are a few of my favorite ensembles from yesterdays Golden Globes.
I thought I would make my picks as radically different as possible, from the glamour of a sequined and feather degradé  to the simplicity of black chiffon.

Lazy Sunday

It's been rather cold these past few weeks and, I don't know about you, but all I want to do is cuddle up under a blanket in front of the justin bieber movie some witty socio-cultural documentaries. Never mind the fact that I still haven't been back to the gym to work of the christmas fat :s But no matter, as long as I still fit into those new awesome James Jeans camel cords, the couch is where I'm staying.
Here is a way to keep your dignity be lazy in style with a few pieces that won't break the bank.
